Deliciously addictive, crisp at the edges and soft at the centre, these cookies are absolutely heavenly in taste and must try for peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie lovers

These cookies are nothing but chocolate chip cookies with added peanut butter hence this will have the same texture of chocolate chip cookies. The other day when I made peanut butter cookies (recipe soon to follow), my son wanted chocolate chips added in it coz he dislikes the taste of peanut butter so instead of adding chocolate chips to the peanut butter, I have used chocolate chip cookies recipe and added in peanut butter to it and I have found that this is the perfect recipe as it brought out the right flavour
#I have tried making chocolate chip cookies just with caster sugar or brown sugar and I have found the texture and shape lacking so yes you need to add both of them for that better texture and shape to the cookies. I have added 1/2 cup chocolate chips , you can add upto 3/4 cup, but do not add too much , then you would lose the flavour of peanut butter. You can add more amount of peanut butter, the below ingredients list lends perfect taste and texture with neither chocolate chips nor peanut butter rendering overpowering the taste. You can sprinkle little sea salt on top of the cookies just before baking for that additional zing. Both smooth and crunchy peanut butter is perfect of these cookies

*You can skip egg in the recipe and still prepare the cookies. Egg lends airy soft texture to the cookies
**Chilling the dough is must to prevent the cookies from spreading while baking

Servings: 18 cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup + 2 tbsp Flour
- 100 g brown sugar
- 60 g caster sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 g baking soda
- 110 g soft unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 135-140 g Peanut butter
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- Sea salt to sprinkle
Steps to prepare
- Blend butter in a bowl for 40 sec. Add peanut butter and blend until well combined
- Add both the sugars and blend for 5-6 minutes
- Now add egg and blend for 3-4 minutes
- Add vanilla extract and blend well
- Sieve all dry ingredients and add it to the butter mixture
- Mix well until it comes together to form smooth dough
- Now add chocolate chips and mix well
- Cover the dough with cling wrap and chill for 45 minutes
- Preheat oven to 170 deg cel and line baking tray with parchment paper
- Remove the dough from cling wrap and shape them into balls
- Place them on baking tray leaving gap between them. Sprinkle little sea salt on top if required
- Bake for 11-15 minutes until golden brown at the edges and soft at the centre, do not over bake
- Cool on tray for 10 minutes
- Cool the cookies completely on wire rack
- Store in air tight container and munch on as desired. Consume within a week
